Positive Changes Coming to Potterne Park Skatepark

Positive Changes Coming to Potterne Park Skatepark
There’s some great progress happening at the skatepark in Potterne Park—and it’s just the beginning.
After ongoing discussions between Dorset Council and Youth Riders Charity, we’re starting to see real improvements to the space.
What’s Happened So Far
You may have already noticed a few changes if you’ve been down recently. The old, disused lighting and PA system has now been removed, along with the electrical box. Clearing out these unused features is the first step in making the area cleaner, safer, and more rider-friendly.
What’s Coming Next
This is only the start. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be:
- Adding extra seating so riders and friends have a place to chill
- Giving the park a fresh coat of paint
- Improving the overall look and feel to make it more welcoming for everyone
The goal is simple: create a space that riders are proud of and want to spend time in.
Get Involved
We don’t want to make these changes for you—we want to make them with you.
This is your park, and your voice matters. Whether it’s ideas for improvements, design input, or just general feedback, we want to hear from you.
